Television Broadcast & Event Sponsorship Benefits

As you may know, all of our programs are self-supported and must raise funds to cover production, marketing and promotion, Web site development and maintenance, administrative, and other costs.

The revenues generated by underwriting, sponsorships, and advertising are used exclusively for the programs and activities related to them. The budgets of the programs are “breakeven” at best and, therefore, are not profitable by design. This is why every advertiser, sponsor, and underwriter is so important to the broadcast of our programming.

“Advertisers” are classified as businesses simply using television time for the business purpose of advertising. “Sponsors” are entities, including organizations and individuals, who are seeking to support the programming and who receive advertising as just one benefit of their participation. “Underwriters” are entities, including organizations and individuals, who are seeking to support the programming and know their support greatly exceeds the advertising benefit they receive. Underwriters truly are donors to the effort and often are thanked directly for their support.

Sponsorship Benefits are optional, per the desire of each Sponsor (i.e., some Sponsors may decline to accept some or all of the above-listed benefits) and the decisions of USA-TN. Any of the benefits, per the above schedule, sought by a Sponsor must be confirmed in writing from an officer or director of USA-TN.

Not all Sponsors elect to use some or all the Sponsorship Benefits they otherwise may be entitled to have.  After consulting with a Sponsor, USA-TN will determine which Sponsorship Benefits that Sponsor or its designee will receive.  Each Sponsor has the right to recommend which benefits, if any, it wants to accept and its recommendations are limited only to the benefits listed within its Sponsorship Level.

Sponsors always have the option of not receiving any promotional benefits.  As a matter of USA-TN’s policy, Sponsors in a specific field, business or topical arena will not have any Sponsorship Benefits on programs directly or indirectly related to that business, field, or topic.

Sponsorship and donor funds are used to defray costs of production, distribution, marketing, promotion, and other costs related to USA-TN’s public affairs programming.  As a public service, historically USA-TN has donated all its shows to its authorized broadcast partners.  When licensed or syndicated locally, regionally or nationally, USA-TN may enter into distribution arrangements which require fees or create other potential revenue from other broadcast entities.

Sponsorships paid to USA-TN usually are tax-deductible as marketing, advertising, promotional, public relations, government affairs, or other business expenses for both non-profit and for-profit organizations. Sponsors should consult and rely on their accounting and tax advisers to determine the tax-deductibility and categorization of Sponsorships.  In no event are Sponsorships considered political contributions by USA-TN.
Direct sponsorship payments should be sent to the following:

Aaron Harber, Executive Producer
The Aaron Harber Show™
USA Talk Network, Inc.
2500 North 119th Street
Lafayette, CO 80026-9216

Payments made to USA-TN may be classified as confidential, at the Sponsor’s request.

Sponsorships can also be also tax-deductible as charitable contributions when made to the Democracy and Media Education Foundation (the “DMEF”). The DMEF is a tax-exempt IRS Section 501(c)(3) public charity, which supports nonpartisan, educational programming, including USA-TN programming.

Underwriting through the DMEF must be done directly with the DMEF (www.DMEFD.org). Donors may request their contributions go to support the educational programming of USA-TN, where that programming is donated for public viewing, but may not be involved in the programming or attempt to influence its content or exercise any editorial control whatsoever at any time.  Send checks or other forms of payment to the following:

Mr. Matthew R. Silverman, Treasurer
Democracy & Media Education Foundation
3195 11th Street
Boulder, CO 80304-2527

Please do NOT send checks to the DMEF in care of USA-TN or any third party.  Also, send DMEF checks only to the DMEF address, provided above. Please make note on the check or with the transmission letter that the funds are to be used to support The Aaron Harber Show™️.

Sponsors always should consult in advance and rely on their accounting and tax advisers to determine the tax-deductibility and categorization of Sponsorships as business expenses or charitable contributions.
There is no limit to how much an Underwriter or Sponsor may contribute. There also are absolutely no restrictions whatsoever regarding which individuals, companies, other organizations or entities of any kind may make contributions.

Entities from anywhere in the world are welcome to support USA-TN’s public affairs programming.

In all cases, Sponsors must formally acknowledge they have absolutely no editorial control of any USA-TN programming at any time as well as their agreement to not attempt to influence the content of such programming in any way.

The terms of Sponsorship Benefits, as described herein, supersede all previous descriptions of such terms.

Sponsors may be guaranteed a certain number of Broadcast Equivalents from some combination of the following per program possibilities (this list will change from time to time so verify with USA-TN which broadcast and/or other platform opportunities are available at any point in time):

(a) KCDO-TV Channel 3 K3 Colorado (up to 200 broadcast equivalents per program naming the Sponsor),

(b) Live-streaming for any programs (up to 50 equivalents),

(c) COMCAST Indiana on the COMCAST Network (up to 100 equivalents),

(d) COMCAST Michigan on the COMCAST Network (up to 150 equivalents),

(e) Video on Demand services such as COMCAST’s Xfinity on Demand in the previously-listed COMCAST markets (up to 125 equivalents per available VOD service),

(f) Other Video on Demand services such as those offered by DirecTV, DISH, Time Warner, AT&T, Verizon, etc., if and when made available (up to a maximum of 250 broadcast equivalents);

(g) Other Colorado stations and/or channels, if and when any are added (up to 250 broadcast equivalents),

(h) Other Media Partners, if and when any are added (up to 250 broadcast equivalents),

(i) Public Television stations (up to 500 broadcast equivalents, if and when any networks, stations or channels are added),

(j) Municipal and/or Public Access stations and channels, if and when any are added (up to 150 broadcast equivalents),

(o) other broadcasters and/or Websites such as YouTube, et cetera (up to 250 equivalents).

Each individual (single) program is multiplied first by whichever media entities are participating at the time of Sponsorship and then by the number of times a program is broadcast or otherwise is made available to calculate its broadcast equivalents to get the final total.

Fractional broadcast equivalents will be calculated when segments of programs are made available separately from full-length programs but only if a Sponsor’s promotional benefits are included with the segment.
Broadcast platforms, channels, stations, networks, days and times as well as availabilities on participants’ Websites are subject to change at any time by each broadcaster or other participating entity and cannot be fully guaranteed for any period of time by USA-TN.  However, in the event of a change, USA-TN will ensure the total broadcast equivalents will be provided, albeit possibly by a different combination of entities.

In the event more broadcast equivalents occur than were projected at the time of Sponsorship, the Sponsor shall have the added benefit of all extra broadcast equivalents at no additional charge.  This could include entities not listed above.

On-air sponsorship benefits customarily remain for all full uses of every sponsored program. This means programs made available to broadcast and other entities for times beyond their original broadcast will keep the Sponsor’s benefits intact. In some cases, this will be for multiple years.

SPECIAL NOTE: There is no charge for tickets or seating for USA-TN events. At times, tickets or admissions may be distributed by the organization(s) sponsoring and/or hosting taping events.  In such cases, there still will be no charge for tickets. Level 4 and Level 5 Sponsors get priority admission to all debate and recording events as an additional benefit of their Sponsorship.

All programs produced by USA-TN are copyrighted and are owned solely by USA-TN and Aaron Harber, with all usage rights reserved at all times. Any party, including Sponsors, wishing to use footage from any The Aaron Harber Show™️ may do so for a fee, but only if approved in advance by USA-TN and/or Aaron Harber, according to the Usage Rules found on the program’s Website HarberTV.com/Rights.  USA-TN and/or Aaron Harber reserve, on an at-will basis, the right to reject any request and not grant usage rights to any party.

USA-TN and Aaron Harber each reserve the unilateral and unrestricted right to not accept any Sponsorship at any time as well as to limit the Sponsorship Benefits of a specific Sponsor which USA-TN or Aaron Harber determine would be undesirable or inappropriate.  In such cases, if funds from a Sponsor whose benefits were limited by USA-TN already had been received by USA-TN but no Sponsorship Benefits had yet been received, if the prospective Sponsors so wishes, they will be returned in full. At no time should funds for USA-TN or the DMEF be sent to Aaron Harber.

Thank you very much for your support of our effort to bring civility to politics!
