When KBDI first signed on the air in 1980, a bold experiment in public television sprang to life. Since its inception, KBDI has broadcast the finest shows from PBS combined with innovative programming from independent filmmakers and local producers. Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, Colorado Public Television has earned distinction for its longstanding focus on cultural diversity and free speech. With the support of its members, KBDI will continue to air non-commercial programming that educates, entertains and inspires.

Located in the historic and culturally rich Five Points area of Denver, KBDI serves over one million households along the Colorado Front Range. KBDI is more than an innovative public television station - it is a dynamic community resource that touches the minds, hearts and lives of its diverse audience.
